Hongbo Jiang

Hongbo Jiang

Distinguished Professor and Vice Dean, College of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering Hunan University, China.

Research field: AI, mobile computing, wireless networking, privacy preserving.

Hongbo Jiang is currently a Distinguished Professor and Vice Dean of the College of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE), Hunan University. He is also the director for the trusted systems and networking key laboratory of Hunan Province, the director of Hunan international technical cooperation base of high performance computing and applications. Prior to Hunan University, he was a tenured professor at Huazhong University of Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science working with Prof. Shudong Jin, Case Western Reserve University. He ever interned at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center, as well as AT&T Labs Research. He was a Hong Kong Scholar Research Fellow at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, working with Prof. John C. S. Lui. Hongbo has been serving in the editorial board of IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing, ACM Transactions on Sensor Networks, IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Communications Magazine, ACM/Springer Wireless Networks, Wiley Security and Communication Networks, International Journal of Ad Hoc and Sensor Wireless Networks. He has also been guest editors for IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, Springer Mobile Networks and Applications. He is an elected Member of Academia Europaea (MAE), Fellow of IET (The Institution of Engineering and Technology), Fellow of BCS (The British Computer Society), Fellow of AAIA (The Asia-Pacific Artificial Intelligence Association), Fellow of AIIA (The International Artificial Intelligence Industry Alliance), Senior Member of ACM, Senior Member of IEEE, Distinguished Member of CCF, and Full Member of IFIP TC6 WG6.2. Now his research focuses on computer networking, especially, wireless networks, and mobile computing.

Huosheng Hu

Research field: AI and robotics, intelligent systems and autonomous mobile robots, IOT, smart sensors, genetic algorithms.

Huosheng Hu received his MSc degree in Industrial Automation from Central South University, China, and his PhD degree in Robotics from the University of Oxford, U.K. After conducting robotics research at Oxford for 9 years, he joined Essex University as a Senior Lecturer in 1998, and then Reader in 2001 and Professor in 2002. He is an Emeritus Professor in the School of Computer Science & Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex, United Kingdom since May 2025. His research interests span artificial intelligence, autonomous robots, human–robot interaction, embedded systems, mechatronics, data fusion, learning algorithms, and industrial automation. He has published more than 600 papers in journals, books, and international conferences, earning several Best Paper Awards. His publications have been cited over 22,712 times, with an H-index of 71 (Google Scholar), and he has been recognized among the world's top 2% most cited scholars (2020–2025).

Prof. Hu is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering & Technology, a Fellow of the Institute of Measurement & Control, a Life Senior Member of IEEE, and a founding member of the IEEE Robotics & Automation Society Technical Committee on Networked Robots. He has served as Program Chair and as a member of Advisory and Organizing Committees for numerous international conferences, including IEEE IROS, ICRA, ICMA, and ROBIO. He is currently Executive Editor of the International Journal of Mechatronics and Automation and has previously served as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Automation and Computing and the MDPI Robotics Journal.

Prof. Huiyu Zhou is a Professor at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, where he heads the AI and Machine Learning Group and leads the Biomedical Image Processing Lab (BIPL). He received his B.Eng. degree in Radio Technology from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, his M.Sc. degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Dundee, UK, and his Ph.D. degree in Computer Vision from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. His research interests cover artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, biomedical image processing, human–machine systems, biometrics, robotics, and intelligent systems. Prof. Zhou currently serves as Deputy Director of the Research Centre for Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics and Modelling (AIDAM) and is a member of the Executive Group of the Apollo-Leicester Centre for Digital Health and Precision Medicine. He has held several academic leadership roles at the University of Leicester, including PGR Director, MSc Programme Director, and Coordinator of MSc Distance Learning. Prior to joining Leicester, he worked at Queen’s University Belfast as a Lecturer and later as a Visiting Scholar. Prof. Zhou actively serves in multiple IEEE technical committees and task forces, including those related to cognitive and developmental systems, biometrics, robotics, secure learning, and intelligent multimedia communications. He is Editor-in-Chief of Recent Advances in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and serves or has served as Associate Editor, Editorial Board Member, Area Chair, or conference editor for leading journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Human-Machine Systems, IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, Pattern Recognition, Scientific Reports, IEEE Access, ICRA, BMVC, and IJCAI. He has also served as an external examiner and promotion assessor for universities and institutions in the UK, Hong Kong, Australia, India, China, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Pakistan.

Jinsong Wu is currently Associate Professor in Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Chile, Chile. Dr. Wu received PhD from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Queen's University, Canada in 2006. He was the leading Editor and a co-author of the comprehensive book, entitled "Green Communications: Theoretical Fundamentals, Algorithms, and Applications", published by CRC Press in September 2012. His first-authored paper won 2017 IEEE System Journal Best Paper Award. His co-authored paper won 2018 IEEE TCGCC Best Magazine Paper Award. He received 3 best paper awards for IEEE conference papers. He received IEEE Green Communications and Computing Technical Committee 2017 Excellent Services Award for Excellent Technical Leadership and Services in the Green Communications and Computing Community. He also received IEEE Outstanding Leadership Award in 2013 IEEE International Conference on Green Computing and Communications (Greencom) and 2016 IEEE International Conference on Big Data Intelligence and Computing (DataCom), IEEE Computer Society. He is elected Vice Chair, Technical Activities, IEEE Environmental Engineering Initiative, a pan-IEEE effort under IEEE Technical Activities Board (TAB). He was the founder (2011) and founding Chair (2011-2017) of IEEE Technical Committee on Green Communications and Computing (TCGCC). He is also the primary co-founder (2015) and founding Vice-Chair of IEEE Technical Committee on Big Data (TCBD). He was the proposer (2012), founder (2014) and Series Editor (2014 - 2017) of IEEE Series on Green Communication and Computing Networks in the IEEE Communications Magazine. He is Area Editor (2016 - present) of IEEE Transactions on Green Communications and Networking. He was the original proposer (2012) and Series Editor (2014-2016) of the IEEE Journal of Selected Areas on Communications (JSAC) Series on Green Communications and Networking. He is Editor of IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials, Associate Editor of IEEE Systems Journal, Associate Editor of IEEE Access. He was the one of the earliest key proposers and a long term promotor from Green Track to a full green symposium in flagship conferences of IEEE Communications Society. He opened and established Big Data Track with general and wide topic coverage in the flagship conferences of IEEE Communications Society, starting at IEEE Globecom 2016. He has been conference chairs and main organizers in a number of IEEE conferences and workshops.
